Coated Pipes are Scalding Hot!

Jet hot did a set of used pipes inside and out.

Their warranty is only for the outside, though.

Thats interesting because I tried having them do a set about three years ago and they wouldn't do the inside for me so I just had a local guy do the outside.

Is that raw pipe or off heat shields

Just the pipe, I have no shields.

Sounds like normal temps to me
Temps at the exhaust ports can reach 1200 degrees

We tried to ceramicote the pipes, but powder coat the heat shields as they said it would not get that hot.

The PK started melting/getting soft on the front pipe in the cooling air flow.....that is about 500 degrees.

So you being at 500 degrees on the actual pipe seems very normal.
