Clutch

My bike was leaking tranny oil from a loose screw behind the final drive pully. That was a real easy fix but now I'm having a hard time getting the clutch adjusted.

I initially thought you were supposed to tighten the clutch pushrod until it wouldn't turn anymore. Whoooops :bang: lesson learned. (my first time doing this shit)

I didn't realize that it should be done with a **super ultra mega LIGHT touch**. Soooo, I'm boned. I can no longer get the clutch to fully disengage. I think that's because the clutch diaphragm spring is now bent. Should be a cheap and easy fix, right? Is there anything else I could have fucked up? I'll pull the primary tomorrow and see what the deal is.

And too bad I had to do this over a holiday weekend. I won't be able to make it to a dealer to get a new diaphram spring until tuesday after work :urowned:

I've only been wrenching for two months now. It's a lot of fun but I guess that means learning some things the hard way sometimes

Yeah you need to pull the clutch rod out and inspect the end. It could just be that. I am not sure if you can bend the spring plate... but it wouldn't surprise me. But to pull that you will need some larger sockets and impact.

The clutch rod is suppose to be lightly seated... not wrenched tight.

Do yourself a favor & buy a shop manual.i'm not trying to be an ass,but its a hell of alot cheaper than replacing parts.
