This is embarrassing, but in the pursuit of mechanical best practice, I’ll fess up here.
I recently removed a Karata open primary From my K9 and went back to stock, and somehow neglected to install the final large spacer ring that goes on last. It had fallen on the floor out of sight.
Of course the clutch slipped, so we took it apart thinking maybe the stack height was a off or maybe I installed some steel plates backwards. Then Blacktopper noticed the ring was absent. Easy ( and cheap) fix and now the clutch is fine.
You know that doing something twice is Always instructive—it’s an opportunity for overcorrection, a necessary thing for skill improvement for us poor mutts who fall in the lower half of the bell curve.
