The diaphragm spring points down or the crown to the top side. The outer edge of the spring rides on the seat diaphragm spring on top of the pressure plate.

good work boys glad it got sorted

totally agree with gas about doing it yourself - those weeks at the dealership can never be replaced and you don't even know for sure if they have done a proper job - also the more DIY you do the more you learn and can do yourself and every next fix gets easier to do, quicker and cheaper

Nice work House! Glad to see someone not being afraid to do their own work. With GasMan's experience and good troublshooting skills most of these problems are a matter of just plain "stop and think about it".

Good work to all involved! Where else can you get a service department with this many minds working on a problem!!!

After you pull the diaphram spring off


The fix is simply tightening it to 80 ft lbs
