Clutch Replacement Advice

Last weekend while riding, my clutch was going out of adjustment when the bike got hot.
I adjusted the cable once on the road (extra slack) a little ways down the road (before I could get home) I was pulling up to a stop and I notice more slack on the cable again - Crap -- couldn't pull the clutch completely in. The last little pull on the clutch lever and I heard PING. I shut the bike down immediately.

I pulled the belt cover and checked the ramp and cable and everything is ok -is ok damn.
I pull primary cover and you guess it. The pushrod seat is out and soime small bearings and floating around.

I obviously need to replace the clutch, and check the stator output.

My questions are
Which Clutch to use (easiest to install would be nice)
Anything else I should check/be aware of as I do this job.

This has already forced me to cancel my run to Myrtle Beach Bike Week.

If anyone could send me a scan of the clutch section of the service manual for a 2008 K-9 efi I'd appreicate it (not sure how long the one I am ordering will take to get here.)

Many thanks in advance -- I know the people on this forum will as alwyas have the right answer for me.

I suggest going with a bandit clutch/carrier.
If you need some parts to get you going for bike week give me a call and I will see what I have at the shop.

When you install clutch packs, there is a cut side to the steel plates. face all cut sided to you as you install the pack. If there is a cut side to the frictions, face those to you as well. If say there is a painted side with a paint dab of some color, line those up facing you.

That bearing falling out - Needs more info. Where is this bearing to push rod? I know there is the forked arm to push on the needle bearing housing. This has two washers and in between that is the needle bearing cage. There is a cir-clip at the end of the rod. This clip is pushed in a groove on the push rod. This is more or less the throwout bearing to a car, in a way. Is this the bearing you are talking about?

Ok thanks to All for the advice and recommendations and the HOW-TO's

Here's the end result of what I found.

The throw out bearing was the culprit -- when it went -- it went big time.
Since it was running, the pressure plate got chewed up, the hub had damage, the carrier was not ideal.

I replaced the clutch, hub, carrier etc and put a new pushrod cup in as well since the old one still has part of the throw out bearing race attached to it and I can't get it off.

The Bandit clutch I put in is GREAT. Already feel s like more power hitting the ground than before -- might just be my being so anxious after being off the ride for 2 weeks.

The one note is Bandit does not recommend AmsOil as is noted in the HOW-TO (per my conversation with Bandit directly)

Plenty of threads on the subject. Don't think you should use synthetic in the primary......
