CLUTCH QUESTION

My clutch engagement is at the last 3/4 to 1"" of lever travel. I have made all the adjustments and I'm not having any problems with the clutch, doesn't slip and neutral is easy to find. By contrast the HD seems to start engaging at about the halfway point. Is it normal on BDs for the engagement point to be further out or could this be an indication that the clutch plates are getting worn out?

Mine is about half the lever travel. You might need to back off your clutch rod adjustment just a little. Manual says after contact to back off (counter clockwise) 1/4 turn. If after you adjust, the point of clutch engagement changes and keeps changing you may have other problems.

Thats NOT an unusual or extreme amount of distance(relief) to have it engage , but it's relative to the type of riding and wear that YOU exert and subject the bike to-as well as your style of riding.
It may be a *bit* much for your *feel* or liking so-...so back off on your clutch rod adjustment a 1/4 turn at most and see where yer at.
if it's Not to yer liking go back to where it was.

Personally I think your clutch just needs a little *adjustment*
Hope this helps you out dude.
