That big [clutch outer] basket is direct drive to the engine. The smaller [clutch inner] basket, drives the back wheel and that too is direct drive. The push rod slides thru the main shaft. The main shaft slides thru the inside of a gear. The splined part of the gear will sit outside of the transmission for the counter shaft sprocket.
The friction plates are the engine side, the steels, the wheel side. The pressure plate collects both packs of frictions and steels, locks them down via the springs. You are now direct drive from engine to rear wheel. You pull the lever in, the rod pushes away the pressure plate, lets the main shaft keep spinning, disengages the clutch center that is direct drive to the back wheel.
If you have any small access door on the
clutch side, remove that cover, pull the clutch lever in, then push the whole clutch outer basket assembly towards the transmission. That will be the pressure plate you'll be pushing on to notice movement. If the basket moves, your hand starts to move at the lever and it pushes the clutch lever out... "SHADING!"
