Clutch Problem?

Don't know if this happened with your sissy bar, but I also have a 2008 K9 and purchased the 12 inch as well. Sissy bar shipped with bike - not installed, so I installed. The sissy bar's milling was about a qtr inch to shallow for the bolts that came with the kit, they would never seat deep enough. Had to go to a hardware store and buy some hardened hex bolts to replace. I'll do the clear tape trick today as well.
i've heard about the too small diameter bar problem causing the bolts to break off inside the bar, but I hadn't heard of this one. anyone know where you can get grade 8 chrome cap screws/bolts vs hex incidentally? i see there are other that always think over kill like me...:D

Sorry, sorry - yes, not hex, same bolts only 1/4 inch shorter. Damn that's what happens when your hands type faster than your brain thinks or doesn't.

The bolts did seem to be too short. I thought I caught enough threads, and the loctite would be good... apparently not...

"You won't believe this... Found the problem, it seems the bolt for my sissy bar fell out, and got pulled into the front drive pulley"

Many excellent tips in this thread
