Appreciate the verbal explanation but it was still confusing to me; what to get at and adjust...
Think this photo will help of my 2004 clutch lever. I fully loosened the clutch cable adjuster to get the full "one inch plus" of cable slack to allow me to pull out the clutch lever far enough to: remove, clean and inspect the "white nylon/plastic slider pad" held in place by the one allen head screw.
I adjusted/turned it slightly like a cam clockwise to get it to take up: "the up & down play" and stop the lever rattle -- it worked!
It may be hard to tell -- but 1/32" move goes a long way here!
As it wears more, I may have to shave/reshape it more like a cam lobe to get it to take up more rattle slack...
