has anyone ever encountered anything like this before. its not the input shaft of the transmission, its the splined clutch hub that slips over it.

I would have guessed the shaft by your vid but you ruled that out. So no I haven't seen that but their have been carriers that were cracked or just plain busted.

That was what I first thought also but when I put the dial indicator on the shaft it ran true. The hub itself is warped. It's so bad the clutch housing is rubbing the case behind the clutch.

I had been having clutch problems for a long time so I ordered a bandit clutch. When I pulled the drain plug on the primary cover there was a lot of aluminum in the oil I found the source when I pulled my old clutch assembly off. You could see were it had been rubbing the inner cover. I ordered a new hub from baker. But i'm still curious as to how this could have happened. Surely when I had the jacket lock up the rear tire at 55Mph last fall and caused us to go down wasn't the cause? Looks like the shaft would have bent before the hub.:loony:
