Has anyone figured out how to keep the clutch hub nut tight? Followed the changes that were recommended in 2010 and it still came loose even with the red loctite.
Worked forme to its been two years. You got to clean the threads on the main shaft and nut really good and dry them. Put a good serving of loc-tite on the threads of the main shaft and on the threads of the nut. Tighten the nut and let it sit over night, then reassemble everything. Key is to let the loc-tite set up...![]()
200ft pounds is WAY too much torque to apply to the nut, even to only set the basket. The trans shaft threads will stretch or worse. If You Clean The Threads thoroughly, Use loC-tite Primer, High heat Red Loc-tite, torqueTo 200Ftlbs, Back Off And TorqUe Back To 150Ftlbs It Will Not Come Lose

I was told by Baker on this issue that it would seem that you have a transmission mainshaft/bearing problem if it continues to keep getting loose.I had mine come loose at 80, 100, 120 and the last time was at 150ft/lbs and it still came loose. I can't promise ya that my nuts were clean, but this last time I made sure the thread and nut was cleaned thoroughly with brake cleaner and dried. The key is clean threads and nut (new nut from Baker is hardened) before loctite. I would torque to at least 120ft/lbs.

I've had the tranny rebuilt by Andrew since I had those problems and all is good now. And yes this time I used an impact wrench on the nuts and the shaft /nut was bleeding with loctite.:2thumbs:I was told by Baker on this issue that it would seem that you have a transmission mainshaft/bearing problem if it continues to keep getting loose.
If this doesn't work, get yourself a knocker wrench and a 20 pound hammerI've had the tranny rebuilt by Andrew since I had those problems and all is good now. And yes this time I used an impact wrench on the nuts and the shaft /nut was bleeding with loctite.:2thumbs:
