Sup guys . I have. 2006 k9 . Ever since I bought it new she always seem to creep in 1st gear with clutch fully engaged. I took it in to a mechanic 2 months ago and they can't figure it out . They put in new basket, pressure plate , adjusted clutch and shes still creeping. Mechanic can't figure it out . Any help would be much appreciated

'06 had trouble with the design of the clutch basket. might have to pull the primary and remove the clutch and do an examination. has been covered here several times with pictures. take a look around. there were enough problems with it that BDM put out a recall on them several years ago replacing with a re-designed basket.

I’ll just throw this out there – if the mechanic was not familiar with dogs, he could have adjusted the clutch at the cable only and not at the clutch rod on the right side. I have an 06 and on my old BDM trans had a clutch rod that was slightly bent which changed the adjustment point depending on which direction the clutch rod ended up – pointing slightly up or slightly down would alter the friction point – also make sure the rod has plenty of lube. You’ve ruled out the big ticket stuff – sure it’s something simple.

Drag or creep has to do with the pressure plate moving off the pack. If this is a concave spring washer, it has to sit flat with clutch out. If it looks looks like a bow, and cone in shape, the push rod will push the center out, yeah, but that concave or the outer edge of the pressure plate is still hitting plate. This way, that cone or taper is not moving off the pack = Drag of the pack.

Most all of these things mentioned above can affect the bike wanting to creep while in gear with the clutch pulled. Go to the link that woodbutcher posted :2thumbs: and adjust as said there. There was a recall on the clutch basket cracking and this would cause the same thing. Just one other thing I can think of is that cold heavy weight oil might cause it to creep also.

1 qt

Make sure you are only putting 1 quart of oil in the primary. Thanks to this site I finally fixed my "creeping". The manual originlly said 1.5 qts. Should only be 1 qt.

i really never thought it mattered how much oil was in the primary... as long as it was full...

the primary CAN be overfilled. among other things, it will force primary fluid into the transmission and could even force it into the starter especially if the seal is weak.

The problem it created for me was creeping when the clutch was pulled in. Too much fluid created drag on the plates when opened. Half quart too much was the issue.

Sorry to open old threads, but i am having a simular experience.
First up after the motor is warmed up and i bang her into first she stalls the motor, even after i work the clutch a few times.
Once out on the road, if i have to stop at lights and don't manage to get it into neutral prior to stopping it will NOT go into neutral at all unless i kill the bike and restart. No matter how i blip the motor.
I am getting some slippage during hard accelleration.
I have searched, and found several "clutch adjustment" ramp and ball" "clutch basket" adjustments but none specific to what the true problem may be.
My clutch and cable are in good gondition and the fluid is ATF, adjustment is as per the BDM manual.

Thoughts gents please.

Thishit bleeds warplates. Press your palms and fingers against each other. That is full contact. Press the bottom of your palm and the tip of your fingers so you see daylight between your palms. Thatshithere ISlip.

Steels warp, so place all the steels on top of each other. See any daylight between platesandshit?
