Ever sense I installed my Karata belt my clutch cable appears to be too long now. There is now not enough adjustment I can do with the adjuster to get the clutch pressure back to what it was before I installed the Karata. To make up the needed adjustment I had to add three washers to get the cable tight enough. Mine you after that the clutch work as before but now I’m getting ready to take a long trip and was wondering if I should just change the cable now. But my thinking is that if I change the cable it maybe have the same issue which would require me to do the same fix. The bike only has about 16K on it and the cable was replaced once after 500 miles when the Eye Let broke.

Have you taken off the cover of the clutch push rod and made an adjustment there? It's the round disc on the right hand side just opposite the clutch. Loosen your clutch cable. Spin off the clutch push rod cover, loosen the lock nut, turn it all the way in until it makes contact, then back it off 2 flats (1/4 turn). Then lock your nut back in place and try adjusting your clutch cable again.

Yes, when I installed the Belt I did the required adjustment to the push rod.

sounds like the shortage is in the length of the rod, not in the length of the cable.????
Understand, but the clutch and cable work fine after I added the washers to stretch the cable out a bit. I'm just worried if I can trust it on a really long ride.
