thanks Boys - I'm hoping to get in there and have a look this weekend - I'm also thinking of getting some of that Amsoil Severe oil that Jake has put in with his bew Bandit clutch - does anybody think this is a bad idea with a stock clutch?

I will also point out that this oil is priced at £15.50 in this fuckin shite country - thats about 4 times the price Jake paid for it - just to cheer you all up a bit!

I retract my previous statement - I just ordered the oil - £22.50 including postage - thats $45 to you - you could probably get 6 bottles for that! what a load of bollocks

Crap! Sure is a fun country, but expensive as hell over there. :flag:

The Amsoil will cause you no problems, but crazytaco is right -- the best thing is to dig in there and see what's up.

See that is the type of BS you should see about the cost of it here + shipping there in comparison. I'm sure I would or someone else with a extra quart could send over to you if you pay the ticket. Might be cheaper...

thanks gents - I will have a look but being an idiot with this stuff I probably won't spot anything as I don't really know what I'm looking for - I'm also not going to take anything apart that I'm not too confident about getting back together - thanks for offer Chris - trouble is it takes so long to get here so for smallish things like that I may as well pay the extra - any parts though and I have to get it shipped from the States - I think I'm gonna move over there - California appeals to me!

Hey Lee,
Yes free play is about 16th, the adjustment @ the pulley is in till feel slight resistance. And back a quarter turn. You can have more than 16th but not less.
Look @ the shifter arm on the left side of the tranny. Right behind it on the tranny case there is a set screw and lock nut. Is the set screw flush with the lock nut?
If it is, if you turn the set screw out 360 degrees it seems to shift smoother.
Bike must be in 3rd gear when adjusting @ the tranny. As you turn the detent you want the same amount of movement back and forth before it actually shifts.

Lee What he is saying is this is the shift rail pawl adjustment.look just to the left of the top of the trany cover near the vent line you will see a 5/8 jam nut with a small allen head inside the nut.Thats the adjustment for the pawl.I checked mine and its has one thread showing on the allen head bolt. Now to do this correctly book says to remove the trany top cover and set the air gap in third gear.Sounds like a guess to me on the adjustment of the pawl that way unless coolbreeze has a feel for it.the detent is inside touchs the shift rail. never had to adjust mine yet. 05chop:cheers:
