Well before Sturgis last year I replaced my 05 clutch just for shits and giggles!!!! Many 05's were breaking the hub but mine was fine.
Anyway I put the Bandit in and thought it was a great clutch.
This last fall my bike went back to the factory and they put in the new easy-pull clutch. Holllllllyyyyyy SSSSShhhhhittttt!!!!!! Big MAJOR difference.

Wanna buy my Bandit? :D

Hahaaa. My K9 was built in late '05 and not that I have been having problems, but for piece of mind, I would feel better changing it and not having to worry the next time I get on it and have the clutch just shit out. As far as the easy pull...What makes up that kit? I havent been home since last September and I am thinking of what I need to do to my K9 before I start riding it again

I don't really know what's all included in the kit but I believe it's a new clutch pack with less plates but don't quote me on that. Again mine was done at the factory so I didn't see the kit.

Some others have put it in so maybe they will chime in.

yes it is a new clutch pack and ball and ramp assembly. When I put mine in I didn't use the clutch pack as I have the bandit. Just the ball and ramp and it did make a big difference - I'm using two shims on each spring and the clutch pull was very stiff.

I had my K9 to the factory last fall, and they also put in the easy clutch. Now I've went and changed to Bakers Open Primary, so now I have all the closed primary parts just sitting in a box. On the change over, re-used the new ball and ramp.

Has anyone installed a Barnett clutch on the stock primary? More specifically, one with the DSSC set up like the RSD models have.

Ok, so Barnett does not offer a clutch for the 2005 and up models. Baker does, but it also includes the ball and ramp assy. Anyone installed a Baker clutch on theirs?

How many plates are in the stock clutch? Just curious. Im away from home so I cannot pull my primary off to actually count.

Well, if the Baker clutch for the post 2005 is the same one as I have in my 2009 Mastiff, don't waste your money. 2500 miles and I am on my 2nd one and while it's much better than the 1st one, it is still weak. Get a Bandit and find the ball and ramp parts separately.

I put a Pirahna clutch on mine, it came with the new Karata open 4" belt drive I bought from Jim (@ Karata), and that son-of-a-bitch is badass.

Jim gave me a hell-of-a-deal on the setup, if you've been thinking about getting an open belt drive you should call him.

Before I bought the BDM easy pull unit (I think its not great that you can't get just the ball & ramp) I bought a Muller for a RSD and it did not fit - very different. be careful with that if going for something other than BDM. Even though the bike is RSD it might be a LSD style ball & ramp - not sure.
