I notice that there a lot of people say they cave clutch cable problems. Some sat take a spare with if possible. Is there a defect here? I know the clutch seems stiffer than HD

Hey Steve.... I had the cable snap once in 13 years of ownership for my 2006 K9. Below is a thread you might have already read but this one deals with a variety of issues / adjustments and after market products (Easy Pull) that can assist in reducing the amount of force required for the clutch pull.... Hope it helps...

Not so much a defect as just excessive wear. Big Dogs's have a heavier spring to hold the clutch disks together, to handle the horse power, compared to the Harley. This makes the cable wear faster. Some will break on the bottom, but most will break up at the handle. You can keep an eye on it, by looking at where it conects at the lever, and watch for fraying.

Excellent Post !!
Can you post it on the Technical sub-forum HOW-TO so it will be easier for interested people to find?

Thanks for the repost! I am definitely going to check this out today & see what the current status of mine is. Can’t say that I have ever checked for that particular wear point.
