Clutch Cable Repaired!!!

Just wanted to thank the GAS MAN for the great thread on how to replace your clutch cable. I broke mine at 6500K down at Delmarva Bike Week. Sent it out to Barnett and received it a few day ago. With the help of this site and the Gas Man, I'm back on the road.
I do have one small problem. The Bike runs well and shifts nicely but when in the garage on a flat surface, the bike wanted to move forward very, very slowly. The clutch lever is pulled in and Im in 1st gear. I think if I turn the clutch rod in just a little further the problem will be solved. Am I correct?
This is my first major (if you will) repair I did without sending it to the stealer as I seen it worded on here
Thanks again!

Good to hear you got it fixed.
Damn a lot of us are breaking cables around 7k miles
There has got to be a fix for this

You said I just need to adjust the clutch a bit. Are you referring to the cable? I have the cable adjusted as tight as I can 1/16". If I were to adjust the cable, It seams to me that I would adjust it a little tighter. If I understand the logic, tighter cable means the clutch rod will be pushed further therfore disengaging the clutch pack. Would I be correct saying that if I turn the clutch rod clockwise a little and readjust the cable It would give me the same results.
Thanks

Glad it helped.

Go thru a complete clutch adjustment procedure and you'll be GTG.
