Finding the changing of the clutch cable pretty basic with the help of the intructional how to, except for teh part where you take the cable off the downtube brackets.

How the heck do you get the old one off and new one on with built on brackets?

Lets see if I can make this quick and painless.

We'll work our way down from the lever.

Reference the thread on swapping your levers to unhook that end and get started.
How To pull or swap your levers

Be sure to loosen the downtube adjuster to max slack.

Now remove your clutch cable brackets from the downtube. It is possible that your frame has them part of the frame and not seperate polished brackets.

Continue on...

it's been awhile since i did it but it does come out of the little slot. just don't remember exactly how i did it. but when you figure it out, keep the process clear in your mind because you will have to reverse it to get it back in. good luck.

yea, what he said. loosening the adjuster will expose the cable inside and that fits through the slots. thanks, Bobby.

Hmm cant see how to get old one off.....Adjuster nut end is the problem. I could cut it off or something...but not sure that will help me to figure out how to get new one in place. I suppose I cant spread the metal a bit without cracking the paint....

Got it off...the dam rubber boot thing was throwing me off. LOL Now the next challenge is getting the little clevis holder thing back over the cable end at the clutch assembly.
