Had a new clutch cable installed by a third party. When I took the bike in it was fine when it got it back ...not so much.... don't want to deal with the shop again so (being somewhat tech inclined and no stranger to working on bikes) I am looking at it myself.
I have replaced the Plate Assembly and adjusted the cable and all was ok for about 70 miles. Opened everything up and checked all and everything appears ok. Thinking it might be an issue at the Hand Control end I got a rebuild kit for that. Now I am in my 70's and can't give but about 30 mins to a session; I have to try and remember where I was at the end of the previous session.
Question:
Does the horse shoe cable retainer encompass the cable or does the cable just butt up against it. (knowing that the inner cable passes through it but does the outer sleeve get grabbed by it also)?
Second ask is anyone have a suggested site that might show a cutaway diagram of the left hand control?
