OK wtf am I missing something?? Thanks to Bobby Shultz for starters in letting me rant and helping me out.

I have worked on many a vehicle and consider myself a do it yourselfer. I changed out the clutch cable today and I am STILL trying to get the damn thing adjusted right!

The lever feels good, shaft is engaging, I can see it with my own eyes but the bastard still won't release. Am I missing something here? If the bike if off and I put it into gear if I pull in the clutch it should still roll right?:spank:

I really feel like an idiot here but have adjusted shaft in and out, cable back and forth and still nothing even tho I know the bastard is working!!!:bang:

Any body help a brother out before I burn this bitch down!?

Sometimes clutch plates are sticky. If you start the bike up in gear with clutch in and it don't move your ok. Adjustments off if you can't get outta the friction zone.

So you pulled your derby cover off? And can see the clutch pulling in and out? Try adjusting your clutch adjustment screw on the clutch pack. Tighten it till engages on the pushrod back it of 1/2 turn tighten the jam nut. Bang done. Just replaced my clutch cable and did the same smooth as silk brother

I am betting on the ball and ramp assembly. Probably dropped a ball bearing and this is not allowing the ramp assembly to push the clutch rod far enough in to release the clutch.

Yep - that could be it as well didn't have it seated properly.

1 of 2 things either clutch pack needs adjustment or as Ruff said your balls aint where they are supposed to be

I agree with Eric and Gary if clutch is used it probably will not Roll in first gear with clutch lever pulled in they get sticky with age. You have to start it up to check see if adjust is good. I can see the ball and ramp assembly moving in and out on mine about 1/2 inch which tells me it's ok. When I adjust mine I thought I screwed it up until I fired it up and checked clutch operation and all was good hope I helped out some.

You where exactly right!! All I had to do was start it up and put it into gear loosened up and I had it right the whole time! Guess that heavy ass clutch of ours was just stuck needed a little push. Glad I was not loosing my mind have done it before and thought everything was all good.

Thanks all for the comments and help!

I have had my Dog for almost 2 years now, i have adjusted my clutch almost every second ride, changed the oil 4 times, stripped the basket twice, had the damm nut come undone once. Plus all the other things that have packed up. I did not buy the bike to park it in the shed and pull it out on Sundays and just ride it. Something to tinker with, something different, something to admire and be admired by others less fortunate. LOVE MY DOG even with all the heartache and pain.
It's like having another child in the house.

I agree tinkering is my nature whether it be my Dog or my cars! Just a good feeling to be able to fix it yourself and to help others along the way as well.

Another reason why I like this forum!

Yes it is!! I had it right the first time all along! Just needed to start it and break the friction on the clutch by kicking it in gear. Then BAM! She was good to go!
