Clutch adjustment help

What's wrong? The primary oil mineral 20w 50.

Perfect adjustment! Congrats!
1. Hair trigger lever = hardly pull it in to shift.
2. Knows the pack is at the peak stack = the lever does not need to travel so deep to release-engage.
3. N is found easier = look how much throw you have to keep the plates farther from themselves.

The real story is do you find N like right now? If yes... Good Job!

When I'm adjusting the clutch and I tighten the counter nut on the adjusting rod, there is about a quarter turn freeplay in the assembly. Is that normal?

in which assembly? ball and ramp? clutch rod itself? be a little more specific...

Free play? Meaning the rod moves back and forth with no force at all? Or is there a little bounce in it? Or is the free play you're talking about when you pull the clutch lever?

It takes 1/4" to move the clutch pack on the primary side, that's what engages/disengages the clutch.

Adjust the clutch, put ball and ramp back together, adjust clutch lever and test it.

Do you have your primary off right now or not?

If you're pulling on the rod without ball and ramp it will move.....
