Clutch 08 Pitbull

I have an 08 Pitbull 117 motor stock, about 6 months ago the clutch went out and was slipping then completely out, so I took to extreme customs in mauldin SC and they said the only option I have now is to install larger baker clutch to resolve slipping issue. Well they needless to say didnt tell me that I would not be able to shift into neutral with ease and the clutch lever would be hard as hell to pull in. Need some help if this has happen to anyone. I just took in again this week and they told me same again or I can now buy an entirely new assembly.

yea i know it sucks but there is no one here that is a certified big dog dealer but them. They said if I put a clutch pad in like i had in it when i bought the bike it would do again (slip). They keep saying that is why baker is not a good type of clutch. I am going to bike week in myrtle beach and hoping to get fixed before then cause I can not shift into neurtal unless i get lucky and the clutch is so hard it hurts my hand to keep pulling it in. I asked them about an easy clutch but they also said dont make one for my bike. so im lost.

HERE IS WHAT I WROTE TO BAKER SO MAYBE SOMEONE THERE WILL HELP..........

James-

I'm not sure if you can help me or not but I must try to contact someone because my dealership is having no luck and it is costing me a fortune to try and have them resolve my issue. I have a 08 big dog pitbull with a stock 117 ss motor. approx 6 months ago I had a problem where the clutch went bad and was slipping and then it completely went out the next day. So I had my brother look at problem and just so you know he is a professional race car engine builder so he knows about engines and builds his own bikes. Anyway he worked with it about 6hrs and didn't have any luck to make it better again, so he suggested 2 things to take to shop (extreme customs in maudlin SC) and also try a new hd baker clutch. So taking his advice I did both, well extreme had a very difficult time also they wasted about 12-15hr working on the bike the first time just trying to make it work. so now this past week I had in shop getting some custom stuff done to it nothing with engine still stock and I had them look at clutch again because since this past time I can't hardly squeeze the clutch handle in and also have to get lucky to find neutral. I'm not joking about getting lucky, this can't be the way baker is making the bikes work. I need help from you all so I can keep my bike and continue to ride my custom bike. I'm so fed up with spending so much money and getting no results. I truly feel that baker as in the parts and my bike shop has let me down considering I have spent $30,000 on a bike and can hardly ride the dang thing through town because they or baker can't help me. Please I don't know how much baker is into customer satisfaction but I need some freaking help. thanks for all you can do for me and look forward to your response back and here is bike shop number if you feel you need to call them.

I Switched to hydraulic, it's like riding a different bike and it's no problem to hit neutral anytime at any speed and you can pull the lever with one finger.

I also got a 08 Pitbull.

Clutch is really easy to pull.

I just opened the primary to do the clutch hub TSB.

Did they put harder springs into your clutch :loony:???

You can do the TSB on your own - no big thing.

I got the file on my computer - it is 3 pages, not only the one that you find here in the forums......

How can I put it in here? Cannot upload it as it is 1,8 MB....

And another thing:
Put in a real primary fluid into your primary - no ATF!!!!
Had a slipping clutch with ATF, put in Spectro primary fluid and all was good so.

tobadd: I live in Anderson SC work in Greenville. Here are a couple of places in Anderson. Bone Yard Cycles. They have "Rusty Johnson turning wrenches and tuning to perfection". He's done a hell of a job dealing with my 02 PitBull. He use to work at Red Neck Engineering building bikes in Liberty, SC. If it's built by man he can fix it. Also, been told the owner of Motorcycle Technologies in Anderson knows his shit with custom bikes. His name is Chris Littlefield. Then, you always have world famos Pete Hill in Greenville. Give him a call.

Wow I never thought I would get such a response but will follow up on all people on here. I was hoping that they people who I spent the money with would fix correctly but looks as if I have to spend more money at different place to get fixed corrrectly.
