Clicking at the coil

Can i get some BigDog feedback? I got my pup back on track (2005 Pitbull), she started clicking at the coils area behind that 117" plate where my key goes in. The power is all there so whats the diagnosis.

The clicking is probably your compression releases. Stick your finger in the hole in the middle of your rocker box when you hit the start button. My guess is you will feel it click.
Your issue is most likely a weak battery or bad connections. Enough power to activate the CR's but not enough to actuate the starter solenoid. Needs to read 12.8vdc at rest but even that is not a guarantee it's in good shape. Have your battery load tested to be sure. If it's old, buy a new one because it's the most important part of your bike. If your battery turns out to be good come back and we can help you troubleshoot your problem further.

You also might check that the little green wire w/the female connector is still plugged onto the starter. I rode my 02 pit to work one morning with no problems, and when I went to leave that afternoon the dang thing wouldn't do anything. when I went to use the slam button I saw that the green wire wasn't plugged on. Hooked it back up and the bike fired right up with the start button. Just a thought.

ok got the bike roaring again but the battery isnt charging. It reads at 12 .5 running. When i disconnect the battery, it dies

I just like my Freedom
Sounds like the charging system took a dump. Eric or Curtis should have the parts to get ya barking again.

You should be up around 14 with the bike running. Something in the charging system isn't working, but the bike shutting off when you disconnect the battery isn't a symptom. All bikes do that. Bikes aren't like cars. The bike runs off the battery, and the stator keeps it charged.

ok. i figured it was kie a car. But anyhow, i had got the efi version 2 along with the 32 amp compufire, it was runnin like a champ i tell you. i love this dam bike. its an 05 pitbull
put some 2 inch thick 20 inch apes, dual spiked intakes super g and it is no pup by far, but now the battery isny charging, It stays at 12.5 whilr running and it starts right up. i rwv it up and it still stays at 12.5

You need to troubleshoot your charge system. First stop disconnecting the battery while the bike is running. Always be careful to disconnect the ground (-) side first and then the Pos (+) . When reconnecting the battery connect the + side first and lastly the ground.
Your bike should have a 40A Fuse or Circuit breaker between the VR and the Battery. Check that first before you go any further. Set your meter to ohms and try to read through the Fuse or CB. If they show bad replace the fuse or try to reset the CB.
These links will help you understand the system better. Come back of course if you need help.

The 3amigo Loop:

1. Battery. Here at read my cell count, I idle at 14 point, choose a number. I am showing you I can take, hold the electrical term [I want to get this right] ... PUSH. Data is me. That is all the data you need, I need to PUSH or toss me. One jobber down in the loop.

2. Voltage Regulator. Back to how it does not work in the analogy. I am a simple black box with a trigger action. Think toilet loop. Behind is on the seat, and behind that is your 1.6gal of water or in brackets [16v] is the constant from the other jobber in the loop. So the gallon is called [Threshold] or is holding this in another type battery is a capacitor. The handle of the toilet [Trigger] is going to work it's magic inside the black box and once that handle is moved to open the Threshold, this Triggers an exit. That 3rd move is down the sewer [Discharge] and repeats by filling up the tank, and the cycle starts all over again.

So it is a set jobber that just holds a value, some trail off to the battery as 14plus volts, the other 1. v is Discharged to ground. I mean, E is going to build from 0 to so many volts in a linear fashion, and that means it did not meet a Threshold so as to dump the 1+v, so linear heads right in and no under volt is who cares, it did not TRIGGER =14plus.

3. Stator. The AC maker. The PUSHER. WATT makes volts? The AC. So I now should underwear stand the shit going on with 3 movements in the loop? Who the F needs to diagnose is nose is clean look at the LOOP.

a. E Man = Needs to PUSH ~ over the motor, not go click-click I've had my battery on the charger for a century and now I get a click in my head no push comes to shove the motor over. One down is do I have push, or click the bic, I'll be right back.

b. Dis Guy = Regulates period. The black box does only one thing and could care less, does not know you changed the stator. He's the easy boy to figure out. He can no longer control a limit of PUSH. The VR is as far as I'm concerned, a single wire path to cook the acid, boil diameter out a pleat and tear it up, not champagne bubble sizes. That's way past 14 controlled volts.

c. Race Guy = I don't fucking guesshit we limp back/truck back to the pits. Replace STATOR! We here at Weights R US, we remove shit like heavy magnets and who needs this copper-winding down the weight equals HP gain. Say hooty, that battery ready off the 10amp? Hot charge change out, I got practice/test/an tune me "Total Loss." AS IF no stator on the bike 12v and declining.

Man, if you can't walk up to a simple loopeedooped you into reading it down to here at the rabbit hole, we here anything make sense this time around?
