I agree that regular micro fiber towels will scratch the billet, but I found one brand with an extremely tight weave and are very soft. You can buy them at Home Depot. Shannon has seen my bike up close and those are all I use.View attachment 72710View attachment 72710
I can't find these anywhere online. I have searched Home depot, lowes, amazon, ebay, northern tool, I find only one that says its a polishing towel by detailer's choice but it says its a Spa polishing, it looks small and very thin, pretty sure its not the same thing.

So that's where that rag came from. I guess I stoled one of your rags. It is soft. You can also go to Wally world and buy a yard of flannel for $3.

That's weird, I literally went to Home Depot on Monday and bought 3 more, if you can't find them, do what Shannon suggested, it will work just as well and probably a lot cheaper.

I was having a hard time getting it as well. I asked a detail supply place and they told me it was discontinued. I sent an email to Mothers:

Dear Eric,

Yes, we did, but we plan to re-release it next year under another name.

In the meantime, both Pep Boys and NAPA seem to have stock.

If this is for corporate use, please let me know if you have no other sources and how much you’ll need.

Thanks for uisng Mothers!

Sincerely,

Jim

Well that's why the prices on Amazon are $25 which is much higher than the normal $15 price! I was polishing my 04 rigid front wheel this past weekend and wanted to get some more but was waiting for price to go down guess that's not happening. Finally put a steel front fender on the 04, I've had one I had bought a few years ago Shannon got it painted up for me and bam! Looks better than the fibreglass one, requires different brackets because the fibreglass fenders are wider than the steel.

Can always go old school with some rouge. Also I wonder how the 3m aluminum marine paste is or the heavy cutting cream from chemical guys ive been wanting to try them both anyways.

Another good option is white diamond if the aluminum isn't too bad white diamond is a good polish just won't cut as heavy as mother's .

I bet this marine paste has a heavy cut.

I'm interested to know which polish or atom you used to clean it, it is looking such an amazing o_O
The secret is not so much in what polish you use, but how you use it. Depending on how bad your aluminum is, sometimes you may have to use courser polish first, then a fine cream.
Apply the polish with rubber gloves, not a rag. Let the polish do the work. Take your time and rub her gently, getting into all the little corners. Wipe off the excess polish with a cotton t- shirt. Then polish it to a luster, with flannel or a really soft cotton cloth. Do not use micro fiber rags, they will scratch.
