circuit breaker question

Yep. That's the OEM C/B. Now that's not to say that it hasn't been replaced--no way to know that. But that's what was being used when assembled.

Yes, however, there was a recall on those Circuit Breakers and they were replaced with a 40 Amp fuse. Here is a link to Bigdogpartsking he has the kits for it

The original breaker was a red stump breaker with one lug.
That was then replaced with the overly bulky 40 amp fast blow inline ATC fuse.
That was then replaced with the current breaker you have now and was the installed breaker for the bulk of the remaining BDs that were manufactured.
Any BD that comes into my shop gets that breaker installed if it does not already have one.

You want a circuit breaker rather than a fuse. The circuit breaker will trip and reset but the fuse will just blow and leave ya on the road. The time in between tripping and re-setting may get you home or give you the chance to find the problem.
