Chrome peeling on wheels

My mastiff is supposedly sold (picking it up today) and I have dibs on an 08 K-9. Great price and only 300 miles but the chrome is peeling on the back wheel & pulley. Thought about finding a cheap, used wheel to ride with while I have these re-chromed. Any ideas or suggestions? Aftermarkets?

might want to check with the factory, they (may) do you a swap under warranty, wouldn't hurt to try. go through a good dealer and talk real nice to them.

I've got an '08 K9 and had the same problem on the front and back wheels had them both swapped out. The rear one just last week. It took 8 weeks to get the replacement but I wasn't gonna complain since the chrome was 6 months out of warranty. BigDog did right by me, I've heard they had a problem with the chromer they were using then. If ya contact them offer to pay for the labor if they replace the wheel.

Thanks. Already sent BDM an email after searching and seeing the high number of 08 k-9s with the same problem. Hopefully will hear back on monday.

I'm having the same issue on my 09 Mastiff. The dealer put a warranty claim in for me.

The factory buys most if not all their wheels from outside vendors and holds those vendors accountable for their product quality. I can't imagine they'd have any problem with a warranty replacement on your wheels. Go through your BDM dealer and have him run this through for you. Good luck, and keep us posted!

I am also had that problem, 08 K9. rear rim and pulley are really bad. front wheel is still ok. all happen after 9 months, and bid dog did not exchange anything. so i bought a new set on ebay (shovelheadkicker).

Just got a call from my dealer. BD is replacing my rear wheel and sprocket.
