Hello,

I have see the gallery of the forum, and all this moto are amazing^^.

I have a question for you; all yours motos have the motor, exhaust pipe, handlebar with the aspect of the color of the chrome.
Have you all made an electrolyze or have you paint this parts with a painting who look like at the chrome.

In fact, in France, it’s very difficult to make an electrolyze at home, and the company which make the process of electrolyze are very expensive. For my Peugeot, I have a old motor and if it’s possible I will love that his is similar in appearance to yours.

After having search, an alternative, is with the company Alsa Corporation with the product “Chrome Fx”. But I don’t now if the result is really good.

In exemple, my motor and my handlebar with they present aspect.

Thanks,

IMHO, the motor is what the motor is. more than likely, the motor casting is probably not of a high enough quality to have it polished to the high sheen that the S&S motors reach, but by no means do you want to chrome the motor. you might want to consider getting it powder coated and have the fin tips "diamond cut" to give it a little more pizzazz. also, you might consider powder coating the bars. either black or a matching color for the rest of the scoot.

Hi, you can't chrome at home, but personally I would not chrome the engine. Do restauration, or old style "bobber". If the engine is very dirty, you could take the engine and parts to shop and let them soda blast it to get rid of oxidation.
Something like this would be beautiful, yet in style with 50's!

Just my thought...

Thanks to you I learn a lot, I did not know the existence of the "Diamond cut". I had not seen yet.

I want to try to custom this moto with a "neo look". It's my principal idea, I'll try to describe.
I will remove the front fender and i will decrease the back fender (as the picture of tapiok).
I will paint with a powder coating of the aspect of chrome the rims, motor, fork and exhaust pipe.
And with a other powder coating, i will paint the tank, the frame and the fender in white and blue with a particular design (that i don't no yet ;) )

Have you a particular shop for buy the powder coating?

Not entirely true. You "could" chrome at home if you bought the equipment. There are some YouTube video's of some home chrome setups which are fairly basic, albeit probably not the hard finished chrome you need with a motorcycle. No clue how long it would last, but it is possible

If you chrome the engine I believe you are going to trap in the heat causing the case to warp. The way to go is to send the engine out and have it polished. If you had the tools and the time you could do the polishing at home, but that engine is going to need some serious time and tools to get it to shine.
