Chopper is down..... again.

Was coming home the other night on the highway, and the bike shut down on me 2x while doing 70. Twisted the throttle a few times, it popped and started right back up. Was able to get it home. Just went to take a ride today and the bike won't start. Cranks like hell but won't start. The light on my ignition module also isn't turning on. I had a problem with my VR last year which took out my module. So I have a new one I got from Curtis in it now. I also noticed if you unplug it, then plug it back in the light will come on for a second or 2 but then go back out. It won't come on at all while cranking though. Am I dealing with a bad EHC? I'm just about ready to get rid of this thing. It's a beautiful bike, but it's the second time it's died on me at the start of riding season. Any help would be great. Thanks!

I fixed a bike that did the same thing with the ignition module, it turned out to be a short. You'll have to trouble shoot the short, I started by removing the tank and unplugging one connector at a time until the ignition module light stayed on, turns out on the one I was working on that the tach ring needed to be replaced even though the neutral and oil light still worked.

Good advice. Also, if the headlight went out at the same time you may want to check the plug to see if it's melted or shorted out. Good luck.
