You don't need the chopper extension for the K-9. It will fit, and fits even better if you hang a Condor wheel chock off of the front. You will need to shim the ramp to prevent bottoming the K-9 frame when loading the lift.
I use my lift for several other bikes, including an Ultra Classic.
Since I don't use the extension, I don't know about stability with other bikes, but the extension attaches to the rear, right? If so, it won't affect the stabiltiy of the lift with other bikes.

My lift has the chopper extension up front, however the Condor wheel chock that I have is adjustable. You can remove it or slide it back about a foot on the rails that bolted on to the lift. I have used it to work on my FatBoy and my Trike, without it tilting or tipping over. Just don't sit on it  you may end up under the lift with the bike on top of your ass

Extension attaches to the front. If you look at a pic of it and the bike it has on it. It does lokk like you could tip the thing over with somethin like a sport bike, etc.
