I have an 06 BD K-9 with mean mother supertrapp pipes. I have heard a chirping noise coming from the exhaust when I hit speeds between 50-80 mph. Has anyone out there experienced this problem with there exhaust?

Check your motor mounts. I had the same thing out in Sturgis, happened to be my top motor mounts....I thought it was my exhaust too. Maybe what your hearing...

If your sure it's not your belt chirping (can be detected by spraying with some silicone spray) then check your exhaust shields as they have been known to come loose in addition to what was recommended above.

Dead nailed this one with his comment that Chain nailed it! When my wife's belt "chirped" it was always at lower speeds, but Ray has the miles under his seat and a bar of soap is a cheap way to eliminate the belt if that's what it is.
I am assuming by previous posts and thread that YOURS would be the Soap-on-a-Rope!!! Just Sayin:roll:

My cajun brother! Don't lower yourself to Dead's standards.

Hey, do you plan on going to Bikefest in Nawlins this coming weekend?

I've hijacked enough threads this week. I'll start a new one and see if we can get a ride together.:cheers:

Go under your seat and tighten the bolts holding the battery compartment covers together behind your engine. Mine made that noise for awhile until I noticed the bolts and covers were loose. Once tightened, mine stopped "chirping"...thankfully! :)

I had this same annoying chirping on my 06 K9. I could have sworn it was coming from the exhaust because it can be heard only on acceleration & was consistent with RPM speed. But turned out it was my rear drive belt. I bought some heavy duty CRC 5174 Heavy Duty Silicone Lubricant, raised rear wheel off the ground & sprayed the entire belt & both front & rear pulley while rotating wheel. No more chirping! I don’t know how long it lasts but I have around 200 miles on my bike & still no chirping! This CRC Spray can be picked up at any Wal-Mart store for around $5 per can. Great inexpensive fix!

I have the same exhaust but at 50-80 mph I hear absolutely nothing but wind. My Rineharts on my Street Glide chirp like crazy though but it the rubber mounts under the bags.
