Got caught in some really heavy rain the other day - had no noticeable symptoms of bearing failure before this but I guess its time to pull those new ones off the shelf.

I'm a little past 15,000 - was hoping to get through the summer and then do the whole front end (forks springs, neck bearings, etc.) and rear bearings. Clearly, I pushed it just a bit too far.

Wipe vinegar on the rim to clean the rust. See how that pans out? Yes, bearing is shot and better pull the axle now before it will rust in the center collar and you'll be hammering out the axle, bearing and collar altogether as one. Then grease the axle so the center collar is lubed so as not to happen down the road, i.e., lube @ every tire change.

I just changed the front wheel bearings at 13000 miles when I put the new front tire on and the one bearing was really rough. I also just put a rear tire on 2 days ago and those bearings felt good at 15000 miles but I changed them anyway.

Sven, did you bump your head:lol:your grammar has greatly inproved:cheers:
