Good deal however I would not buy one as freaking tires are junk.
Replaced both mine late last fall and in July rear developed separations. Front looked good so I replaced the rear with another Cobra. Well I noticed the other day the front now is developing cracks. Ain't happning this time I'm changing to Metzler F**K avon....

Call Avon, I actually gave them a call before I bought this tire after all the reviews. I told them I got 9k out of my original cobra and their new style is getting shit reviews. They told me the # on the side is their own kinda stamp and if I have any problems with separation before 50% they'll replace it for free. After 50% they'll prorate it. I also said I hope to get the same mileage and I was told that won't happen, they did go to a softer compound so the tires stick better. I guess the old ones had problems with getting a little too greasy when it was cold or wet. Coming from a racing background, I'd prefer trusting my tires on a cold damp road over 25% more wear life...

No I don't have the reps name or anything, but they're aware of the issue with some and it is a mfg defect. Tires shouldn't do that.

Btw, got my tire today, it's only 2 months old!

Keep an eye on that Cobra, replaced my venom with the Cobra with a build date of 47/2010 and at 2500 miles tread splice started seperating. Avon said no problem and gave me another tire a couple of weeks ago. After 1200 miles the tread splice is seperating on this one. This one has a build date of 17/2011. I like the fact there replacing them for free, but I'm getting tired of removing my rear tire.

Yeah, the first number is the week of the year it was made. The avon guy said they've fixed the issue, but recently. Hopefully this crap quits as we don't have a lot of options!

The Rep told me they fixed the issue also, mine had a date of 0609, but people are having problems with tires that are only a coulpe months old.

I went with a Metzler 300 and so far so good. I won't put a Cobra on my bike if it was the only one out there. The bike would sit.
