Chasing demons

Overall the bike seems to be running great but... Went for a short 50 miler yesterday and at around 85 the engine stumbled twice a couple of minutes apart. It wasn't during accel or decel. The rest of the ride went fine but never got above about 75. Too short of duration to feel if it was fuel or spark. None of the other riders mentioned anything about me losing lights, so I am thinking fuel. But vibration makes me think electrical. A bit of history, rebuilt carb 2 years ago, replaced ignition switch about 1 1/2 years ago, replaced EHC with WP last year, replaced stock gas caps last year. Getting ready to go get some Seafoam to see if that helps. Any other ideas? Could be a loose wire?

Yep at steady speed. Nothing out the carb. More like it just died for a split second. That's why I'm thinking something clogging the jet or an electrical short. Thing is, I easily hit those RPM's during acceleration and haven't had that.

I have K&N Spike straight up and every now and then it "chokes" looking for air. Especially if there is a strong sidewind coming from the left side. Maybe that's happening to you too.

Could be. Going to run the Seafoam in the tank and see if that helps. Thanks for the ideas!
