charing system damage

Hi guys its been a while since I've posted on the site. my bike broke down about a week ago. i took it to a local shop and they found my charging system damaged. this are some pics I took of the primary.

Lost 2 charging systems on my 04 due to the compensator nut backing off. Went to a belt drive and got rid of the compensator assembly and no more problems. You need to clean thoroughly then use plenty of red loctite when reassembling. Torque to 175 ft. lbs. or as some of us do turn up the air impact and hammer that bitch back on.

Well I got the bike back... $500 in parts and $270 on Labor.. the Bike is running great. hopefully I will make rollingthunder this year.

13 years later and I have to change parts in my primary. This time the compensator spring broke. I recently got the parts and plan to spend the weekend putting the bike together again.
