You can get the VR from Harley, its the same as in EVO softail models.
If and when you replace the whole system i.e.. stator and VR, contact Curtis. Kaptain at Wild Steed Worx & Services.

SHould I replace the little part that the VR connects to and then runs to the positive terminal of the battery. Small rectanguler piece with 2 connections.

Your vr is shot should never put out 15

Near the battery?
That is a fuse, it is fine since current from VR goest to battery...
