Are there any videos online or on this forum that demonstrate how to change engine oil on a S&S 107? I see the drain plug under the engine, but I cannot find the drainline from the oil tank. I see a black line coming out with a round bolt in it. not a allen. can I just remove the drain plug under the engine and drain the oil that way? Step by step instructions would be great. The tranny seems easy enough. just a little confused about the engine

I believe your drain plug should be at the rear of your oil tank, have you looked there? I'm with dent, your not going to get a lot of oil out of your case drain.

yes...I see a black line that comes down from under the seat, but that line is capped off with some kind of flat looking bolt.

the black drain line is locked on to the frame on a curve. I pull the round plug off with my bare hands? where do I fill the new oil? under the seat? sorry for the dumb questions, this is my first time attempting this

that video you posted actually says to drain the engine plug to remove a resovoir of dirty oil. my drain line from the oil pain does NOT have a allen hole. Its just plugged with some kind of round rivet type thing. no way to unscrew it. very odd

Should be under your seat according to the owners manual. You tank holds approx 2 1/2 qts...
Bike needs to be straight up and level and the oil should be 1.5 inches down from the bung...

On my '99 Bulldog, there was a black rubber hose that came down from the oil tank for draining the oil. It was plugged with a billet aluminum plug which is retained with a clamp. The hose was then zip-tied to the swing arm. If your bike is like my '99, you will find the hose zip-tied to the frame or swing arm and removing the clamp and billet plug will drain the oil tank. Your fill neck and dip stick will be under the seat I believe.
After you drain the oil, you remove the oil filter and then the oil screen near the pushrods to clean it before you replace the filter and the oil.

Awesome. Thanks. How did u pull the billet plug out of the drain tube? And I noticed my crank case breather filter is dirty. Can I clean that? Or should I just buy a new one?

I read through it. I understand what I need to do now. Now im wondering if I should replace my 13year old crank case breather/filter. Its filthy.

You should be able to clean it with a can of brake cleaner spray. I have used the same ones for a long time and all I do is take it off and spray it inside and out with brake cleaner and blast it with air (optional), and put it back on...good to go---maybe not for another 13 years, tho....:eek:

Im better off just buying a new one. they are cheap enough., This is a NO Return crankcase breather filter, right? any specific size? or are they all a universal fit?

One of the old ones.
Some guys just run the tube straight down with no filter at all. It catches oil and hopefully keeps it from dripping.
The short answer is use whatever you want.
Mine will pump out some oil if I don't keep a dry filter on it to soak it up. Gets messy at 80+ mph on 600 mile days.

jp cyles has one that says it connects to 5/16 hose., and amazon has one that says 3/8. how do I know what is the correct one? are they all a universal fit?
