Ceramic Coatings

I have a 80 corvette and they always had cooling problems. I built small block 400's 600 HPand had real cooling problems. I built a 468 650 HP and had bigger yet cooling problems and on all of these engines. I burned plug wires mostly the spark plug boots. I built a 522 750hp and I coated the pistons, the combustion chambers, the exhaust port, and the face of the valves with a ceramic coating called CB2 from a company called Tech Line Coatings. My headers were coated with Black Satin. My cooling problems went away and I have yet to burn a spark plug wire because of the headers. The finish is really tough. Has anyone used any of the coatings available on there Big Dogs. The princible is to keep the heat in the chamber. Heat is HP. I did it to eliminate heat soak problems. I melted my poly motor mounts. Looked like melted red candle wax. What do you think?

me & a friend used to run a drag car,, tube chassie,, fiber glass, lexan windows,, firebird,, 97 model has a 15:1 comp 540 engine aprox 1200 hp ceramic coated inside &outside of header made a huge differance..never saw engine temps over 240 after a burn out & run,, never burnt a plug wire but we had MSD wires with high temp boots & sleaves...
 
Haven't used any coating as yet on the motor parts but currently running a fully ceramic coated header on the big dog and all I can say is I'll never go back to chrome or heat-shields.

had a set of twin pipes in my snowmobile that were coated and noticed a big difference in the way it even ran!!!!
 
Have used Swain Technology's, located in Batavia, N.Y., on a couple of occasions, for piston skirt, and thermal coatings, on the dome, and chambers, and their "flow coating" in the intake and exhaust runners, of the cylinder head.
Have witnessed a difference on the dyno.:D
