I sent an e-mail to exoticchoppers this morning and had some question about their Air Grabber stacks! Here is the reply I got back from them! Does anyone know the size of the "breather bolts" I dont thing they are acttual breather bolts, right?

it will be an additional $40 for those custom cut tips, the mount we offer is $109 which doubles as a breather, if you have 5/16"x24 breather bolts it will be $66 as those are special to certain s&s motors, if not the standard 3/8&1/2 bolts are included. lead time in chrome is 4 weeks. just call to place order and mention you were the one who requested the custom tips, if you are not sure on breather bolts and have to check you can place order and call us later to let us know on the bolt size to get things rolling

Your new motor doesn't use breather bolts. You can use the standard bolts it says it comes with. Make plans for routing the front and rear breather hoses though. Plenty of posts on here about what others have done. I use a Wimmer that has fittings for the breather hoses so I don't have to route them elsewhere. It's really only the rear hose as the front hose routes to the top of your manifold.

Good luck,

You are correct - no breather bolts
... I do think the bolts are 5/16-18's though... check your service manual.

You should be able to run your breather line down to the ground...

Check the How To's

Thanks Raywood, Guess I will have to put the catch filter on huh?
Many do but I look at it as "if it can be plumbed back into the carb then why hassle with the additional hose, filter and posibly blowby cleanup!"

Yeah Rottie....run that shit to the ground! I have my check valve at the bottom of my bike...just make sure the white part is facing the motor....riding all summer and have not had a problem with blow by:up:

Chopperdave, did you run the hose all the way from inside where the breather is or did you just put braided cover over it? Is that the little breather right there on top of the motor, you just relocated it to the under niethe??

SIICK!!!
the only cover(sleeve) that I have is the carb drain hose....thats just braided sleeved over the 1/8 line.....the rear breather hose goes into the rear head...down between the jugs....down behind the pushrods...to the ground with the check valve at the end...as you can see in the pic....the front one just goes on the front head to the intake.....they just pull out....

Rottie, that little round thing (Black & white) is not a breather, it's a check valve that goes between the hose that runs from the rear head to the breather. What some of us have done is taken that hose and changed it out to a longer hose (breaded looks better) and routed the new hose to an area under the Bike. Like Chopper Dave said make sure the white part of the Check Valve is installed towards the engine side or the Black part should be at the end of the hose as shown on Chopper Dave's Picture.

Hope that helps

Here ya go ..

Fuel Line 5/16"
Front Breather 1/4"
Rear Breather 5/16"
Tank Cross over 1/4" (if you have one)

As for the breathers - I am leaving them as they came I found no difference plugging the front, leaving the rear connected to the backing plate or front vent connected to the intake and rear vent to the ground (running the rear to the ground was a pain and I didn't like the look). That said if it helps the environment and there is no loss in power (already plenty) I 'll keep it as it came from BDM.
