my carb backfires at times I am reading it could be a jet problem. 6Sigmajetkit says their kit will solve the problem. Anyone ever use this kit?

Are the intake boots leaking? Are you running without an air cleaner. Carb is who's brand? "Initial turns out" for this carb you have is?
Bike instantly starts? Bike idles? Starts fast, and can idle shows no clogged jet circuits.

Compression in each cylinder is? 28 psi between cylinders means rebuild. Below 150 psi and below is a poor runner. Can you leak test the cylinders instead? This will show a loss at the intake and pinpoint to a pop.

As Sven pointed out, vacuum leaks are the primary cause of decel pop issues. Start by checking for intake and exhaust leaks. Your profile says you have an 07 pitbull so if it's stock you have an S&S carb. Be sure to check the little rubber boot on top for cracks. If you removed the baffles or changed your air cleaner the issue will be more difficult to minimize.
If you backfire or misfire on acceleration it would more likely be ignition related, like spark plug failure.
It never hurts to drop the bowl and make sure your carb is clean. If it's never been done an 07 is due to be cleaned.
When you are reasonably sure things are healthy use this tuning procedure to dial in your carb for the correct jets.

I had the carb rebuilt when I bought it. It only backfires every third or forth start and only when starting the engine. I will check the little rubber boot today and check the compression soon as well. Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it .

If that's the only time it backfires I wouldn't worry about it. Try different ways to start the bike, as in trying different combinations of throttle squirts and enrichment amounts. 1 squirt, 2 squirts, 0 squirts , slightly raised enricher, more raised, left alone. See what works best. Different combinations work best between the engine being cold to fully warmed up. Typically on my bike once the bike is warm I use no throttle and no enrichment.
