Carb adjustment?

Mixture should be adjusted with the air filter in place. If it's coughing when you crack open the throttle make sure the accel pump is shooting gas, and try opening the mixture 1/2 turn at a time until it goes away.

Moe I think you meant to try and open the accel pump adjustment screw 1/2 at a time till it goes away. I don't think you meant the mixture screw or did you.

Yes mixture screw. Cough is usually lean, I'd try to dial it out with mixture screw first. Just make sure the accelerator pump is working. Is the cough right off idle, and if you hold it cracked at like 1/8 throttle does it keep coughing or smooth out?

i rode it yestersday and on way home it wasnt running quiet right.. cough was accelerating and from idle.i pulled plugs- rear plug seemed like it was running lean. i dont know .. maybe an intake leak. im putting in fresh plugs and gona adjust carb ,check intake for leak and ill let you guys know tomorow what happened. im at work right now. thanks for info.

Maybe you already got this fixed, but definately need a filter. How were the plugs? Is the gas fresh? Check the carb bowl for debre by draining it, maybe picked up some water in the gas. Hope you get it fixed, I just rejetted my intermediate jet as it was a little lean at highway speeds. Runs great now.

A fresh set of plugs and carb adjustment seems to have corrected my issues... not a lot of riding yet -been rainy around here ,but definitly better.

Yep! i only rode bout 10 minutes or so after adjustments cause it started to rain on me during the test ride. but seems like its running like it used to!
