Cant Use Brakes or Blinkers or Bike Dies.....

Yes I did disconnect the rear lights with no luck and the ignition switch doesn't sound like the issue because when it dies the blinkers come on and the headlight is on still. The bike is going into air ride mode, that's the problem I just don't know why it is dying and going into air ride mode.

I suggested this 3 months ago but not it. I do follow this but have nothing to share other than a rewire and I would start with the handle bar wiring.

Tyler, its a wonder you haven't blown this up by now:rant:

I know, everything in life goes this way for me so unfortunatley I am some what used to it.:bang:

Ok today bike died but not like normal, all power cut off. Turned key off and on and as soon as I hit start all power would shut off. Finally got it started and got home. I had just received a new big dog ignition switch so I replaced that In case that was the problem with no luck. Put the meter on battery read 12.6 volts, held the meter on and turned key on and volts dropped down to 3.6 volts and was fluctuating a bit. Had the battery load tested at 2 shops and the battery won't pass a load test. Battery is only 3 months old. Sending it in for a warranty replacement. So could this have been causing the bike to blow horn and go into air ride mode due to low voltage? Can batteries be intermittent before finally giving out? Maybe the voltage would drop every once in awhile and when I use brakes etc it drops the voltage enough to kill it? Sound like a possibility or just another problem I ran into? Thanks everyone.

Yes!

Franco, I am hoping this was the problem, I had checked the battery before and it was ok but maybe it was just losing voltage everyonce in awhile. New battery shipped today so should have it by this weekend. Lets hope!!

... the meter on battery read 12.6 volts, held the meter on and turned key on and volts dropped down to 3.6 volts and was fluctuating a bit. Had the battery load tested at 2 shops and the battery won't pass a load test...
I HAD never heard of batteries doing this exact thing, until it happened to me TWICE in the last month. Once in my truck, and again in my car. Unlike yours, both of mine were old, 4 and 6 years old. I have had shorted batteries in the past. They were easy to spot, instead of 12 volts, they had 10, and turned over too slow to crank. I have had wore out batteries in the past, they still have 12 volts but not enough cranking amps, and again, turn over too slow to start. These last two cranked the vehicle fine until they didn't. I turned off the car in the driveway, then 15 minutes later, click click. The truck I had parked 2 hours before, then not even a click. Both charged up to 12 volts and were reported as good with my big "smart" battery charger but would not crank the vehicle. I guess my charger may not be so smart after all.
My Micro-Start PPS XP-3 got the truck cranked after having to wiggle the clamps a few times to get a good connection. It would not start the car.

I do not know the answer to this. I don't know the logic switching in the EHC. Maybe someone like Curtis can answer this.
... Can batteries be intermittent before finally giving out?...
Yes, without a doubt.
...Maybe the voltage would drop every once in awhile and when I use brakes etc it drops the voltage enough to kill it? Sound like a possibility or just another problem I ran into?...
It shouldn't, but it could.
With the engine running, you should get enough voltage and amps from the Voltage Regulator to keep the engine running even if you disconnect the battery (not recommended). But maybe the EHC is smart enough to know the difference, or maybe the VR pulses instead of steady output, in which case it would shut down if the battery is bad (or disconnected).

Originally had a harley battery that was 4 years old, then I put a powersource lightning start in it. Went with that because it has 500 cca, 1 year warranty and I got it for $87 shipped. I checked the charging system in the process of testing everything and it was fine. Thanks

Quick update company called and said the battery is on docks in florida and they are on strike so who knows when battery would get to me. I cancelled the order and got some more cash and ordered a braille. Got the braille today 4 days later( nice). Says it was tested at 625 cranking amps. Hopefully if weather is good will be testing out tomorrow.

Yes a quick update, finally got to try out the new braille battery today. Threw it in on my lunch and rode back to work with no problems. Rode home with 0 problems as well. I was using brakes, blinkers etc any chance I could get too and bike never died. So I am very hopeful that it was the old and new battery but want to give it a week or so just to be sure.

Well apparently I have such bad luck that the battery was just another problem. Bike died abunch again today. I put the volt meter on battery while running and pushed brake to kill bike to see if there was a voltage drop and there isnt. If it was a short would the voltage drop?
