can a bd trans be swapped out to aftermarket?

Just wondering. If your your trans blew up and you needed a new one, instead of buying a trans from bd could you swap in an aftermarket trans. Say this was fro a 05 right side drive. would it be cheaper? If you could, then couldn't you used any open primary?

there's not much you can't do if you're willing and able. Might be a lot of work and money.

As Narrow said we do have a propriatory mount, but if you could find standard primary inner plate and a std trans you might be able to see what has to be done. Might be able to pick up or borrow some old parts just to see if you are going to have yours apart.

not doing it just wondering. my trans is at bd now getting looked at. I had 2 different people look at it and could never figure it out.
