camshaft replacement

Hi the needle bearing on my camshaft has burnt out and I will have to replace the cam and the bearing there are pieces of the bearing inside the crankcase behind the bearing mount will I have to split the case to make sure that I get all the pieces

If you have your heads and jugs removed you can try and run one a flexible magnet thru the top of the case. Not a guarantee you will get them all but may be worth a try. If you split the case will ensure you get all the needle bearings out.

I'd say do it right and split the cases. Do it now or do it later.... and put some real good bearings in the main shaft while you are at it.

Not good. What kind of bike do you have? Just asking. I agree with the others, rebuild it
