cams

What motor is in you're 2001 and why do you want to change cams? Are you having starting issues?
Mine is a 2002 with a S&S 107 engine. It came with a .600 cam. I had to replace it because I dropped a lifter and it messed up the cam. Note; S&S recommends putting in new lifters every 20,000 miles (mine had 21,000). I also replaced the stock coil with a Voodoo coil. The limiters and coil help with starting. I don't have any starting issues. These big inch motors without compression releases need a good battery for starting.

That is exactly the point I wanted to make. Good battery, cables, starter and tune up equals easy starting.

Mine is still stock. But when I first got I was told I could put a cam in the 107 that would beat a bussa on a drag strip. I think I remember thinking why in the _____ would I want to do that? I think mine has maybe 11,000 miles, of old man cruising around on it! :)
