CAMPING IN STURGIS

Eh everyone. I'm thinking of booking a campsite for Sturgis next year. I was looking at Katmandu camp ground. (Tenting) Where do most of you guys stay, and which place do you recomend?

I have stayed the last 2 times at Buffalo Chips, it is great, great people, great concerts. This next year we are staying at Hog Haven, just down the road from the Chip. Never heard of Katmandu, is it in Sturgis or out side of town?

It is supposed to be on the non traffic side of Sturgis. They also advertise it as a campground where you can get some sleep. Has clean washrooms and hot water showers 24 hours a day. According to the map it is only a couple of miles from downtown Sturgis. They also have a shutlte bus running until 1 A.M.

Hog Heaven is hard to beat for tenting (trees, grass, nice facilities). But not much partying.

For Partying and concerts the Chip or Glencoe.

Im booked at the Buffalo Chip already, I stay there every year and have a blast!! Alot of action for the money!!

The Chip is where I stayed and loved it with concerts there every night.

You definitely can't beat the chip for parties, stayed there twice and if it were my turn to pick this next year it be the chip, as far as the shuttle, most campgrounds have that, and that is the safe way to go if your going to toss a few back. And the NON-Traffic side, ha! no such thing in Sturgis unless it's the week prior or the week after.

Glencoe

Glencoe. If you're doing a "been there - done that" one time trip. Set up next to the main road for the best seat of the show.

We are staying at Buffalo Chip and Aerosmith is playing this year.

I stayed at the one next to Glencoe, can't remember the name to save my life. It was just accross the street from FTS at the end of that dirt road. Nice and shady, free hot showers, pretty much quiet at night, and it was $15 a night per person. Free shuttle up to FTS until 2 AM.
