I guess this is an old guy thing,, I have been thinking about this cam thing a long time now. even thought about changing the exhaust from the original stock ones. If I don't do this in the first day or so, I get to reasoning I am wasting time and money. The more I think about it the more I changed my feeble mind at this point. I took it out Saturday , it is still rattling windows loud with the stock exhaust,,, vance and hines don't make 2-2 big radius to fit it anyway any more. I am going to get those springs checked and possibly the S&S rocker boxes to get rid of that rattle and just ride it.. I am catching up with Raywood almost ,,, almost 8,000 miles .... And covered up in the garage. Thank you all for your input on this,,,

This helped me a lot ,,,
The 4" bore S&S engines for the chopper companies were sold assembeled from S&S and used S&S rocker boxes.
The .600" cam is NOT a valve pounder, as far as cams go. It's easy on the valve train. (Harley uses a lot of cams in the .575"- .650 lift range).
Use S&S premium lifters when replacment is needed.
