I just come across this Dyno Chart comparing the two cams... there is a bit of difference favoring the Woods...

Is this very noticeable on the road? What are your opinions?

OMG Franco, just put the dam thing in or I'm flying over there to do it for you:lol::lol:

Still undesided huh? With the salt on the roads I haven't been able to get out on the highway and see what it feels like since I installed mine. The one run had a 9% increase in humidity:nono:

The dyno chart is an UNFAIR comparison!
Run dates are 6 months apart.
Air temp is 19 degrees cooler.
Humidity is 9 degrees lower.
Dyno calibration may be OFF from previous run 6 months ago.

End result, invalid comparison!

no matter what cam you put in, it all comes down to your riding style. you could put in a 640 and ride like a grandma and what good would it do?

That's exactly what I'm seeing in that chart, an apples to oranges comparision. Not even the same engine that we're running...

So that´s crap  I am not familiar with Dyno runs... I was just wondering if it could be that much difference between these two cams :D

Thanks

I think either will do especially if u up compression. Both would be a different beast than before. I considered both of them then finally decided to go all out with a woods 650 lift cam. Woods are known to be very agressive ramps some say a little noisy too. But the s&s 585 would be an easier install without upgrading everything else. It's the cam that s&s intended for our 117 to begin with run around 10.2.1 compression with it and the 585 won't disappoint.

Yep. You're almost at 70°-29.9-sea level: which is close to those ideal hp making numbers.

They look like they have the same curve, only one breathed better that day. OK, lets say they were pulled the same day, same air. It still says 9 more pounds of get out of the way kind of power.

And then the wake up call with [you and] the map, pipe, bore, stroke, and some stock street bagger with honey on the back, blows right by you anyway.

Don't you hate when that happenshit!

The bike in the dyno:
Is it a Harley Twin Cam engine? It says "only" 96cui, injection etc.
=> nothing to do with our engines......

I installed the 585 cam together with a Thunderheart ignition (all DIY). The bike is just another beast :2thumbs:.

Full throttle and I slip on the fender of my Pitbull :whoop:.
