cable removal?

2008 Mastiff (super shorty carb.) Do I have to remove tank, to take off pull side throttle cable? also where do I get a 40" cable(I think it's 40")

Removing the tank will give you easy access in routing the cables. On my K9, there were no tie-downs under the tank so it would have been possible to remove the cables without pulling the tank. I can't say for sure on your bike, but pulling the tank is no big deal, just 2 bolts and slide the tank forward to release the rear of the tank. Pay close attention to the spacers under the tank so that you get them back in correctly.
