Cable question

I've got a 2004 Chopper and I can't get the sheath on the throttle and idle cable to touch at both ends, at the carb and the hand control. I have the adjustment nut at the throttle all the way out and the sheath still moves about. I read one post that said the bracket at the carb can be 2 different sizes, does any one have knowledge of this and a dimension so that I can check this out? Thanks in advance.

This is a recurring question that gets asked a couple times a year. Did you just purchase new cables? There are two different styles, cv and butterfly. It sounds like you bought cv cables and your carb has the butterfly cable guide. Cv cables won't adjust long enough with that cable guide. You need to return your cables and get butterfly cables OR change your cable guide to the cv guide.

well I don't know how to say this except for the fact that I am 67 yrs. old. I took it all apart and cleaned everything then put everything back together and it was perfect. I guess they're right when they the brain is the first thing to go. Thank you for your info guys I think I'm going to get a friend of mine to look over anything I do anymore.
