Have just over 18K on my 2005 Chopper. For 4 years I had absolutely no problems whatsoever. On the way home from Laughlin last year, started having electrical issues. Never could trace it back after replacing the EHC, coil, ignition module, plugs, battery & cables, and checking every connection I could think of. :bang: The Dog started blowing oil so it's in the shop in more than a few pieces for top end rebuild. My mechanic checked the stater and said it smelled burnt. Wires looked good but who know?
Am crossing fingers, toes and whatever else I can find that the new one will solve the problem.
While it's down I'm having the heads diamond cut & show polished. Hell - if I can't get the Dog to run right - it's gotta at least look damn good on the side of the road!
Love this bike ~ there is no feeling in the world like being out "in the wind" on a chopper. Even with the grief and frustration of the past year, there is no way I would get rid of it.
